Center for School Partnership and Teaching Certification - Graduate Assistantship (GA)
Graduate Assistant (GA) positions cover $5000 in tuition in both the fall and spring semesters.
There is a stipend of $1250 in both the fall and spring semesters with a service commitment of 20 hours per week when classes are in session.
Responsibilities Include:
- Report to Assistant Director for the Center for School Partnerships and Teacher Certification
- Support onboarding of teacher candidates by sending welcome letters and monitoring field placement applications [2 hours per week]
- Assist Director with Student Teaching Seminar by facilitating online sessions [2x per semester]
- Review and revise student teaching resumes (training provided) and provide specific feedback and due date for revisions to candidates. 10
- Support Director and Assistant Director for the Center for School Partnerships and Teacher Certification with various projects related to pre-student teaching and student teaching experiences [3 hours per week]
- Mentor and support the Teacher Education Student Association (TESA) executive board members [4 hours per week]
- Attend TESA meetings and weekly executive board meetings.
- Advise and support for campus logistics related to events.
- Oversee student assistant by checking in on project completion status [1 hour per week].
Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate:
- Strong organizational and professional communication skills.
- The ability to work comfortably with software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; Microsoft SharePoint, One Drive, and Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Pro and/or willing to take Digital Literacy course.
- Excellent problem-solving skills – ability to be solution focused.
- The ability to take initiative and work effectively, respectfully, and professionally with a variety of students and faculty members to support the mission of the Center for School Partnerships and Teacher Certification
Time Commitment:
20 hours/week, including 10 regular office hours a week, with schedule to be negotiated; may involve some late afternoons, evenings, or weekends during the academic session.
