Dan Hurley Student Leadership Fund

The Dan Hurley Student Leadership Fund was created in 2014 through gifts from former students and friends of Dan Hurley ’54. Recognizing the importance of learning experiences outside the classroom, the Donors wanted to give student leaders a financial incentive to secure an internship experience that would further enhance their Potsdam education. Thus, the Donors chose to designate the Hurley Fund for an internship scholarship to be administered as follows.
Student recipients shall be selected according to the following criteria:

  1. The student must be a “rising” junior
  2. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  3. Student must demonstrate strong leadership qualities by being actively and effectively involved in a SUNY Potsdam organization
  4. Student must have secured an academic internship
  5. In order to broaden the student’s perspective and experiences in their field, preference will be given to those with off-campus internships
  6. Student must be enrolled full-time (12 credits) for the fall or spring semesters. If the internship is during the summer session, internship must be at least 6 credits.
